Country-Baked Goodness It won't take long for the aroma of freshly baked pies to entice you to our kitchen, where you are likely to find a kettle of homemade soup simmering gently on our old "Model Stewart" wood cookstove. In the evenings, enjoy relaxed dining by candlelight in gracious surroundings. And of course we offer fine wine and imported beer to compliment your meal. Phoenix Cozy and Comfortable If it's just plain relaxing you're after, curl up in one of our cozy armchairs or a comfortable couch, and warm your toes by the crackling fire. Pick up a puzzle, a book, a magazine or just daydream for awhile. As you walk up our winding staircase, you'll probably stop to admire our antique stained-glass window, it's one of the special touches that make our inn a special place. Sweet Dreams Choose from several attractive bedrooms, each tastefully decorated with antiques, wicker furniture, and in some cases, canopy beds. After a good night's sleep, you'll wake up to fresh country air, the irresistible aroma of steaming hot coffee, freshly brewed, and the sizzle of home-smoker bacon served at your leisure. In Any Season Our country inn is an inn for all seasons! In the spring, you'll be greeted by bright yellow daffodils and pink apple blossoms. You can visit a real maple sugar house and sample the season's finest syrup, or cast off on one of the area's well stocked lakes or streams. From May through September you may swim in our heated pool. The majestic Green Mountains usher in our summer, with almost unlimited outdoor activities for the sportsman or woman. Tee off on one of many challenging golf courses close by, then take a refreshing dip in a spring-fed pond or clear mountain stream. Antique shows abound, so there's plenty of opportunity for browsing, and you can watch Vermont artisans at work when you visit and arts and crafts festival. We are also close to tennis courts, and exercise trail, hiking trails that wind through the Green Mountains, and some of the most scenic bicycling anywhere. Spectacular foliage highlights fall in Vermont, so bring along your camera. Pick crisp apples at a local orchard, and sample some freshly pressed cider at a real cider mill. Fall in Vermont is also a sportsman's dream, with fishing, bowhunting, and our famous deer season the top attractions. Winter drops in with a thick blanket of snow to cover the hillsides. If you're a skier or want to learn how, you'll be able to sample a rich variety of terrain and facilities at some of the East's finest ski areas. Or try ice-skating, snowmobiling, cross-county skiing, or just plain relaxing by the crackling fire. Skier's Delight Okemo, with 11 lifts and 88 trails is minutes away. Other ski areas are within an easy drive.
